you just upgrade it.. donot uninstall and install again.. you can install it again without uninstalling the previous version. you can do it for sure.

Firefox imports everything from your previous installation including cookies, favorites, links, bookmarks ect. you have nothing to worry about.

I upgraded to Mozilla ff3 and suffered no ill effects with anything i had been using on Mozilla ff2.
A few of my add-ons had to be updated but that was about it.

No it is not. When you have add-ons you use in firefox2 and you want to continue using them, do not install firefox 3.
Your add-ons will not work there. I tried out firefox 3, but when you add-ons did not work, I uninstalled 3 and reinstalled firefox 2. I would do the same and stick with firefox2.
