A friend and I are creating a site with little icons and stuff on my server and I really dont want anyone to direct link. Is there anyway I can see who is direct linking my images?

Right click on the image and select ‘properties’. Copy the URL of the image and paste it into Google search. Google can list any website that links to your image.

One way is to do a search, here we used Alta Vista Search Engine. Type in:
image:www.yourwebsite.com
…this will bring up sites that have linked to our site and/or coded their HTML wrong and are using our server for the graphics instead of their own server. If you want to do a search on graphics on your page, type in:
image:the domain name/name of your site is listed as
You can also do a search for individual graphics by typing in the name of the graphic.
If you intend to block this direct linking, please have a look at this website
